My last few articles since the February New Moon have been around the vibration of Ascension. The articles were called Experiencing Ascension and Untangling Ascension.
As it turns out, there are some more themes that I wanted to delve into more. To maintain a reasonable reading length, this article as well as the one that follows is made up of mini-pieces around this larger theme of Experiencing Ascension - coz, there’s just so much to talk about!
Each section explores one of these themes. They are not explicitly connected to each other, other than the fact were pit-stops in my journey this far.
Some of these topics came from misconceptions that I had to navigate and realizations I came to.
I share these now and in this way because I was able to move through them by being shown my blind-spots in loving ways. This allowed me to unhook from what was limiting me from beyond my knowing and sight.
Your experience and understanding may be entirely different. And that is a beautiful thing.
The Marriage of Oneness and Uniqueness
Oneness is an Essential Truth.
And yet, you are you and I am me, and we are in different bodies with different motivations, walking our unique pathways and creating our diverse worlds.
Our tastebuds register flavours differently and we may value and prefer different things in the world.
It was very hard for me to reconcile these truths - Oneness and Uniqueness - in a way that I could actually live and honour both of them within myself and in the world. I understood them in my mind, but to actually live it felt difficult because they felt contrary and impractical.
For a while I used to thrive by ‘being different and unique’. This was within my personality construct. While it wasn’t a bad or negative thing, I knew I was missing a layer of depth.
Eventually, I got to understand the nuances of this, and see the ‘why’ behind the behaviours of my personality self.
Where Oneness and individual Uniqueness live together are in the Body, not the mind.
When we embrace both, it births a new experience of Diversity.
In order to love and accept diversity, we actually have to be different. But in order to love and accept diversity, we have to remember and recognize Oneness.
They weave into each other in a quantum web.
Sometimes, we mistake Oneness for sameness. Here, we may associate feelings of safety when we act the same as others - a safety in numbers and groups, in sameness. What is familiar in material 3D reality is perceived as safe and it is reinforced in group behaviour. Any challenge of this is perceived as a threat and un-safe. This can also be a comfortable familiarity with the past.
Living here tends to make diversity, especially diversity in choice, thought, belief and opinion hard to reconcile. At best the group may tolerate it. At worst, it is shamed, shunned or destroyed.
In the energy of sameness, we can never know true Unity and Diversity. We can talk about it, but we do not live it as an embodied practice, and so there are limits and frustrations when we try to place this upon the outer world.
We may absolutely want to celebrate diversity, but when we are not unified within, we cannot evoke unity around us.
This is a huge shift for anyone. And it starts with accepting our own unique quirks and sometimes the shadow aspects of ourselves if we wish to walk in this direction.
The way I experience this is now is that Oneness and Uniqueness are in Union.
They may be contrasting, but in the marriage of the two, we start to exist and experience differences and diversity on a whole new depth and scale. Our sense of familiar, safety, home-ness and otherness, shifts and creates new adventures, new possibilities, new ground and stability and New Truths to work with.
De-cension and the Fallen
Ascension is not a goal. Neither is getting to the next dimension of consciousness.
I don’t actually believe there is a goal.
I believe movement is eternal and cosmic and natural. And so, while some of us may choose to experience life expansively by moving from 3D to 5D, others may (for reasons we cannot know) choose the path of contraction from 5D to 3D.
This can look like fallen masters, disgraces stars and shamed heroes.
This is the other side of unworthiness and not valuing the self; when we over-value others and place them on high pedestals, making it very far for them to fall.
It is easy to get distracted by the drama of this, especially with how it is portrayed in media.
The fall of another, or, what we perceive as a fall, is that person’s journey.
How we react to it, that is our journey.
Maybe we feel betrayed, horrified or we have a feeling that something was always a bit ‘off ‘ about that person.
If consciousness is our chosen work, then our job is to attune to our Soul-path and self journey, and not be distracted by what we perceive the journey of another to be.
Sometimes, when people have fall from society’s graces, they do us a great favour - they pull back the curtain on a previously accepted behaviour, or they reveal something that was hidden that the masses didn’t know before. In these cases, there is a gift for us here as we move through our experience.
Whether we are ascending upwards to a higher dimension or contracting to a lower one, or perhaps moving to a parallel one, I understand inter-dimensional travel to be about Choice and Allowance, as much as it is about Creation and our Engagement with Life. This is as true for us, as it is for another.
So, as we acknowledge that change is a constant, which direction, which way and the quality of our experience is our decision to make. This in turn creates our reality.
Stay tuned for Part II.
