Happy Spring Equinox!
There’s a lot happening in the skies this month and to me, that signals that there is a lot happening within and around us as well, even if we cannot see it.
This week, I’m doing a short blog and video combo. The blog breaks out the themes of astrology that I’m working with, and the video explores how I’m experiencing and interpreting these themes.
It’s action packed! And it’s fun! Let’s dive in!
The Aries Archetype
The Aries archetype asks us: Who Are You?
In its higher expression, Aries is our drive to know ourself as well as act, create and do from our true Self and soul-desire. It is our strong sense of Self, that does not need to impose on another. At its best, this archetype is able to replace judgement, force and rigidity with a decisive sense of truth and lead with actionable purposes. It knows that it has the inner resources and energy to fulfill soul-desires.
This archetype lives in all of us, as we all have the energy signatures of each Zodiac sign.
While this energy may kick-off for some of us this week, we have an opportunity to align our intentions, dreams, desires and actions to it at the New Moon in Aries on April 8th, which is also when the Solar Eclipse occurs (both Sun and Moon are in Aries on this day, along with planet Mercury). Alignment is what helps us overcome resistance to the energy, if that is what we experience. Alternatively, it can amplify it, if that’s what we need.
A Solar Eclipse is when a shadow is cast upon the Sun (our conscious mind). As such, during eclipse season, we get to delve way deeper than what we think, imagine or even believe consciously.
This Solar Eclipse in Aries energy asks us: But, Who Are You, Really?
Who are you, when your mind doesn’t jump to a quick and clever answer?
Who are you, when you are not your societal roles?
Who are you when you are in shadows, in the dark, in the quiet, when there is no-one else to see?
The Libra Archetype
But this question about the Self cannot ignore Others. And so, to help us answer the questions of the Aries Eclipse, we get some assistance from the Lunar Eclipse in Libra on March 25th, which is also the day of the Lunar Eclipse (Sun in Aries and Moon in Libra).
A Lunar Eclipse is when the shadow is cast upon the Moon (our unconscious mind and emotions). Here, we get into deeply transformational space as we have access to what may have felt hidden, tucked away in the past, denied or repressed.
The Libra archetype asks us: How Are We?
Libra is the sign that polarizes Aries. In its higher octave, Libra is interested in loving, harmonious and bountiful relationships. The ‘we’ replaces the ‘I’, but not in a compromising fashion. The Libra within all of us seeks to balance, without dominion. It is the energy that can happily accept diversity and otherness, because it remembers that we are expressions of Oneness. As such, it can celebrate differences because they are ways of connecting, collaborating and discovery.
The truth and quality of our relationships (Libra) inform who we truly are (Aries), because all our relations mirror something back to us.
The Aries Season
These are some of the astrological energies we are working with through Aries season. There are others and if you are interested in learning more, I’ve linked some of my favourite astrologers below.
If you’re wondering what the above themes look like in a person’s life, look no further!
My video below shares how these themes are playing out in my relationships and what I’m learning to evolve. Over the next few weeks of Aries I’ll dive more into each theme.
I hope you come along for this journey, because the only way we can actually uplift our relationship with ourselves, each other and the world, is with each other.
In a sense, I believe that we are the medicine that we have all been waiting for.
