A downpour of newness is available to us on this New Moon in Leo which falls ~August 17th 2023.
Saying YES to the NEW, to things we cannot see, cannot imagine and cannot fathom isn’t easy. A lot of us wish for a blank slate and to feel new or renewed in the world - we wish that we were different, that others were different, that the world and life situations were different. Perhaps we wish this because we crave something new and different.
But do we know how to renew?
Do we know who we will be, what we will say and what to do, if we work up tomorrow and everything was suddenly different?
Wouldn’t we feel like an imposter, confused or resistant?
Newness and renewal is about change, and what if we could welcome change softly, lovingly, joyfully in great trust and joy?
In my practice, I often look to the sky — to astrological and cosmic energies at play. This helps me attune to energies and get inspired by what is possible and outside the realm of my immediate awareness. One of the energies around this New Moon in Leo is that of Welcoming Newness.
One of the comments I get often is: ‘I don’t know how to connect or work with astrology’. Delightfully, I can help with that in today’s video!
In this video I share a beautiful little exercise from the lineage of Kundalini Yoga that helps us welcome and receive what is new and beyond our imagination; especially energies coming in, that we don’t know ‘what to do with’.
Welcoming Newness is about softening our mental chatter, our heart-walls, our pain and resistance, as much as it is about saying Yes to what we cannot see.
The exercise is only a few minutes long and is a potent practice we do together, that allows us to side-step our mental and emotional dramas, baggages and stories (for a few moments) and feel what it is like in invite the cosmos within, one breath at a time, in a delightful dance. This practice is best done seated comfortably (versus standing or lying down).
Once we feel the joy, the delight of welcoming the new, we start to believe in what is beyond the realm of our possibility. This eventually, with practice helps us heal our stories and dramas, restoring us into great trust in ourselves.
Play. Wander. Allow…
