Normally on New Moons, I feel that it is up to each of us to welcome and receive the special flavour that is on offer from the Divine Cosmos.
This New Moon in Aquarius doesn’t feel so.
It feels like getting an invitation to a life beyond anything we have ever wanted and dreamed of. It feels like holding this invitation, trembling, wondering about what ifs and being a mixture of nervous, excited, scared and worried emotions.
Sometimes we spend so long wishing for, striving for, desiring something that we forget any other way to be.
Whether we behold our personal life or world events, we all been engaged in a long-desire; frustrated about time and outcomes as we interpret occurrences as ‘not getting what we want’.
That ends now.
With this Aquarius New Moon (January 21st 2023), we all hold, in the hands of our Hearts, an invitation to rise higher than the frequency of our problems, our woes, our despair, our doubt and our anger.
This invitation comes to us like Thunder. It is loud and it will shake us and wake us from our sleep. We know this as we hold it, which is why we tremble.
We have wished for change, but now, our integrity and commitment are in question.
Can we be the change, the miracle, the improvement that we have been demanding in our life?
Can we accept this invitation?
It is down to us. We know that.
And this is why we may have dallied, delayed and deflected. We may also have struggled, trudged and dragged ourselves with great effort for the last while.
Either way, this invitation is not about drudgery.
It is about the vibration of creativity and solutions to our everyday matters that comes from Flow and Trust.
The River Before the Thunder
There is a Labour of Hercules often associated with Aquarius. It is most appropriate to the Aquarian energy because it comes after he slays beasts like the hydra, the Nemean lion and the bull of Marathon.
A version of it goes as follows:
The person who is responsible for assigning Hercules his Labours does not want him to succeed. But Hercules has done so every time.
In order to demean and make Hercules fail, he is assigned to clean the stables of King Augeas.
The King was known to never keep or tend to his royal stables. For over a decade the stables hadn’t been cleaned. A mountain of filth, pestilence and stench cake these stables.
I imagine a younger, haughtier Hercules would have been appalled at this Labour. Arrogance and ego would have taken hold. He may still have done it, but I doubt he would have been fighting himself and taking on his Labour at the same time.
But our hero has fought his battles and come to terms with his thoughts and beliefs, so he has a greater maturity now.
Instead of picking up a shovel, Hercules walks away from the stables and around the land that surrounds. He sees that the kingdom is flanked by two large rivers. Being mighty, he uses his strength, engineering and understanding of waterways to divert the rivers to the stables.
Both Rivers start to flow through the stables in such a way that they are cleaned before the day’s end, at which time he returns them to their natural route.
Unlike the other Labours, this isn’t the violent story. Nobody is evil and no creature dies.
The task is massive. It may be akin to wanting to clean up the river or beach we live by - a task that is way larger than just us.
At times, we may think we are better than the task at hand and that someone else should do it.
If we stay in the vibration of pestilence or pollution, our solutions vibrate in those fields. Even if we mean well, the solutions may feel small and inadequate.
Or, we just never get around to doing them, so we fail before we start.
We could do it ourselves and walk along our rivers and pick up garbage. We would have done a great deed. But we would return the next day and find industrial sewage that we couldn’t clean up and more garbage; that could lead us into hopelessness and despair.
We may get angry at others and in doing so, we start emotionally polluting our environment, even though we had wanted to physically clean it up.
This is us creating solutions in the same vibration as the problem.
The wisdom in this New Moon invitation card sent is to upgrade our the vibration of our solutions.
This invitation, while sealed is electric. You can feel it in your hands.
Without opening it, we know we have the solutions within us, yet we stall.
This is because opening this invitation requires that We are the Change.
By opening it, we are agreeing to Being the Change, living it, igniting it, thundering it into our everyday lives. No matter what it looks or sounds like.
Navigating Thunder
The solution that holds the highest benefit for us and everyone else may requires that we are nowhere near the problem. Alternatively, it may be that we have to dive deep into the pits of it. Can we accept that and then follow through?
The solution may be realizing that this isn’t something we can solve right now by ourselves. Can we receive that fully?
The solution may be doing the exact opposite of our established pattern. This creates resistance and doubt within us. So, who are we truthfully then?
Are we the ones content with whining about the world and our life that hasn’t changed, making no different actions?
Or, are we the ones ready to acknowledge our resistance, doubt and fear and act to change our life equation anyway?
One of the ways I experience fears in this Cosmic vibration is the fear of inadequacy.
I don’t think that is accidental.
Aquarius is about All of Humanity and the consciousness that connects us. One of us is insufficient to clean our air and oceans and reforest the Earth.
This New Moon gives us the first step into a much bigger journey than most of us imagined - at the place where Self-hood meets Oneness, through Service.
When we accept the invitation from our Heart, our Soul and our Cells, we are called to show up, stand up, rise up and serve Love, beyond our ideas of comfort.
This means we have to open to new ways of solving our personal and collective problems.
This is us taking the invitational Thunder and bringing it into our Hearts.
Our effort, like Hercules, is no longer thinking and being overwhelmed at the work and effort it takes to shovel shit from polluted stables. The act is not a reflection of what the world thinks of us or our ideas of our self-worth and value.
It is in the temporary re-routing of Rivers that cleanse. Knowing we are possible.
It is choosing Solutions that Serve Love & One-ness. Knowing power in connection.
It is acknowledging our ego, and surrendering it to our Soul and Spirit. Knowing and acting in the highest vibration of Love.
It is lovingly receiving the invitation of today, opening it and letting it roar and pulse within and around us. Knowing that we are learning to hear the Thunder of our Hearts.
I’m opening mine right now. Have you opened yours?
