A Slow & Joyous August
A Month to Reflect, Catch-up and Enjoy Reading!
Do you ever go back to something you wrote, drew, or created some months, years of decades before and wonder ‘Wow…. that version of me was really on to something cool!’
It’s been about a year since I started the Connect the Dots Substack and so I went back to some of my earlier articles and experienced that exact sentiment!
It is such a lesson and medicine to take the time, go back and review things that are done, even if it is from a few months ago. For example, I can tell how my writing has changed — how I was long-winded because I was uncertain about my words, how I avoided certain life themes or really focused on others, how some typos made it through even though I did a spelling check.
Sometimes we don’t realize how much or how little we’ve grown.
Often, we forget things completely and only remember them when we reflect and do a sweep of ‘who we were’.
In the spirit of going back and reflecting, I’ve decided to take things slow and joyous during this hot and rainy month of August and turn a little more inward, as my way of honouring the ongoing Venus Retrograde. For the month of August, I will only put out two posts, aligned with the energies of New Moon in Leo (mid-August) and the second Full Moon in Pisces (end August).
During the month, I plan to pursue some dreams and ideas, catch up on some reading and find new inspiration in the natural world as well as writings, poetry and vlogs by other awesome people.
